Focus on the Foundation: Fun for the Feet
2020…
Wow, where do I even begin?! What a wild ride it’s been so far and we’ve still got a few more months to go in this challenging year. It’s been quite the interesting experience for all people across the globe due to COVID-19 and the immense impact it has had on literally everyone’s lives. There is so much I want to write about with regards to the novel coronavirus and how it has impacted our health and well-being on all levels. However, I am still, on a daily basis, recalibrating my life and work and will allow myself that time for now (stay tuned though!).
In the meantime, I will share a wellness piece I wrote for my friend (and former colleague from my fashion days), Min Santandrea and her luxury footwear company, SantM. SantM shoes focus on comfort and craftsmanship through utilizing the finest Italian materials handmade by fourth generation Italian artisans. Min has just as much passion for foot health as she does for beautiful shoes, so when she reached out to me about contributing a piece for her audience, it was a no brainer for me.
For the majority of my time working in the corporate design and fashion industries, I pretty much lived in high heels and my feet were wrecked and tired all the time. In studying wellness, nutrition and yoga, I was very aware that healthy feet are a cornerstone for overall health and well-being. The information I learned from various healers, teachers and PT’s helped me better understand how to take care of my feet, inside and out. Varied actions play a big part in adaptable, mobile feet. In my piece for SantM, I show a fun and essential total-foot movement that can be an interesting break to take in between your endless Zoom meetings or computer screen time in the current WFH environment. It brings a mindfulness component into the mix that will maximize your break to nurture your mind-body connection. Click here to read the post and practice Foot Wave. I’m interested to know how it goes for you so feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. Here’s to happy, resilient feet and a great foundation for your overall health!
